Blog: Drought Advisory Issued for Skeena Region
With a changing climate, droughts could become more frequent, which will impact the rivers and the fish. Considering climate change, prioritizing values/uses, and ensuring more public involvement in planning are essential for proactive and responsible water resource management.
The BC government is working to amend and modernize the Water Act (aka Water Act Modernization, or WAM). The government is currently considering all the feedback they heard from the public regarding WAM.
Ourwaterbc.ca is a webpage that several groups have put together to reach out to BC citizens about the Water Act, and the government’s current initiative to modernize it.
